I call this Tom's house, because it was given to me in kit
form, by Tom Berkner of Earth & Tree a year before his
untimely demise in 2006.
I wasn't sure about moving into such a small scale
(it is 48th, or 1/4" scale), but it was fun to do, and a tribute to Tom.

I added the chimney and porch
railings, and decided to set the whole
cabin in a landscaped garden.

The house is occupied by an elderly
widow, who enjoys quilting
and other sewing.

.

I also added a back door and
steps......

.

...as well as the staircase. I dispensed
with the bathroom, and put a sewing
area on the landing instead. (I reckoned
that she would use an outhouse for
the necessary!)

.

The kitchen is complete with range,
dresser and dry sink. All the pots
and pans are there. She also enjoys
an occasional bottle of damson wine,
apparently!

In her sitting room there are many
books, and on the mantle shelf, a letter
from her daughter.
